  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
  • Our Islamic curriculum constitutes the following

  • Simple stories of the Prophets
  • Daily Duas
  • Names of Allah
  • Kalimah’s
  • Islamic etiquettes
  • Dhikr/Tasbeeh
  • Islamic Nasheeds
  • Religious festivals
  • Our staff take pride in ensuring each of their key children make progress in all areas of learning and the learning and development is measured on a termly basis. We focus our older children’s learning to ensure school readiness and have targeted sessions with these children including Phonics sessions and Numbers and Letters sessions.

    Activities

Our weekly planning covers a range of activities that help stimulate the children and highlight the 7 areas of learning. They are linked to the Characteristics of Learning and to our Islamic ethos and British Values. Our weekly Key Group activities focus on the individual needs of the children to ensure development across all areas.

Every week parents/guardians will receive a newsletter via email. The newsletters inform parents/guardians about some of the activities that we have planned for the children that week, any key vocabulary and Literacy/Mathematical concepts we would like to be reinforced at home and any key dates or other important information too.

Taqwa Nursery is also partner with Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

    Friendship

At Taqwa Nursery we encourage our staff and children to develop sound friendships with each other and with the community as a whole. Where possible, we strive to participate in community events and help form strong bonds of cohesion within our local community to teach the children about the benefits of giving back to the local community.

    Vision & Values

Every child is unique – At Taqwa Nursery every child will be treated as a unique individual, each holding as much Importance and value as every other child. We will adapt every area and every part of the Nursery to ensure that it is accessible for all.

At Taqwa Nursery, every single child regardless of race, gender, physical ability, learning ability, special needs or disability, will be welcome and fully integrated into the setting. We have developed an in-depth Early Help offer and will ensure that every child with additional needs has access to an Early Help in order to support them throughout their time at Taqwa Nursery.

Every individual at Taqwa Nursery will be treated with care and compassion, with respect and will be made to feel welcome, safe, secure and that they belong. We will have high expectations from each and every child, and will enthusiastically support them in achieving these expectations.

Inclusion, Equality, Diversity and Multiculturalism will be embedded throughout Taqwa Nursery, through areas within our setting and through staff training – staff will receive annual training refreshers on these areas and will also have access to specialist training for additional needs that are specific to the children in their keygroup.

    Development

This is one of our key areas of monitoring at Taqwa Nursery. It is vitally important for us to be able to see and evidence development in all areas for our children. We follow a termly cycle of monitoring, progress tracking and logging. This cycle then feeds into the production of ‘next steps’ for the children to follow in the next term. Children’s learning and development is monitored on a Progress Monitoring Grid which highlights the age band children are working at each term. If any child is identified as working below their age band, one-to-one interventions are put in place to help support them in the area they need help in.

Children’s development is evidenced in their Learning Journals, these will be updated throughout the term by the children’s keyworkers and will be available for parents/guardians to view during parent’s meetings.
